Genghis Khan Airlines (9D, Hohhot) began commercial flight operations on Friday, July 26, with scheduled passenger services from its Hohhot base to each of Ulanhot and Xilinhot.

Operations are on-board the start-up's fleet of two C909s a further two of which are due to deliver from COMAC (Shanghai Pudong) in 2019.

Genghis Khan Airlines will focus on serving the Inner Mongolia market which, at present, is underserved.

Under its five-year plan, the company plans to operate a fleet of 25 aircraft, connecting 40 destinations via 60 routes all by 2024.
