The State Aviation Administration of Ukraine (SAAU) says it revoked the Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) of Ukraine Air Alliance (UKL, Kyiv Boryspil) effective 0000L, Friday October 5.
The regulator did not provide a specific explanation for the move stating only that the decision was taken by a committee that assesses maintenance, flight training, and crew competency.
The move comes after one of the carrier's An-12 freighters, UR-CAH (msn 8345604), came down short of the runway prior to landing at Lviv Danylo Halytskyi International Airport on October 4. Five out of the seven crew and one passenger onboard were killed.
Founded in 1992, Ukraine Air Alliance operated six more An-12 freighters on chartered cargo flights for and on behalf of NGO firms, in particular, the United Nations Humanitarian Air Service (UNO, Brindisi).
