ZilAir (SYZ, Mahé) has taken ownership of its first Tecnam P2012 ahead of the aircraft's planned delivery flight which should take place by month-end.
The Seychellois carrier said in a statement on its Facebook page that S7-ADM will depart Tecnam's plant at Capua airport "in the next days, on a journey that will see it cross two continents and oceans to its new home in the Seychelles."
ZilAir currently has one P2012 on order but said that it will discuss the acquisition of a second unit in 2020.
The Seychellois carrier will be the world's second operator of the type after Cape Air (9K, Hyannis), which plans to debut P2012 revenue operations on December 14, 2019. ZilAir provides luxury charter flights across the Seychelles using a fleet of five Airbus Helicopters H120s, one Eurocopter EC145, and one Partenavia P.68C.
