Taos Air (Taos) announced plans on November 20 to commence charter flights from Taos to Hawthorne Airport, which serves Los Angeles, and San Diego McClellan Palomar which also serves San Diego, beginning on January 9, 2020.
The new winter California services will run from January until March 29 and both destinations will be flown every Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. These new routes are in addition to Taos Air’s existing destinations of Austin-Bergstrom International and Dallas Love Field.
“Taos is fortunate to welcome many visitors from Southern California and we are very excited to help them make the trip quicker and easier,” said Daniel Barrone, Town of Taos Mayor. “We are so pleased Taos Air continues to grow and provide door-to-door flights for people who want to experience Taos.”
In October, Taos Air announced that it will change the operator of its flights from Ultimate Jetcharters (Akron Regional) to Advanced Air (AN, Hawthorne), which is conveninently based at the Los Angeles area airport where it will commence flights to Taos in January. However, the aircraft equipment will remain unchanged, with a Do328-300 still to be used, namely N452FJ (msn 3214), owned by Taos Ski Valley and operated by Advanced Air Charters.
