DAT - Danish Air Transport (Kolding) has added a first ex-Vincent Aviation (New Zealand) (Wellington) Dash 8-100 to its fleet and will also wet-leased a second aircraft of the same type from Medavia (Malta International). The new aircraft are required for the public service obligation contract for routes in the North of Norway that it has been awarded recently. DAT will operate from Bodø to Leknes, IATA!NVK, Røst and Svolvaer replacing Widerøe (WF, Bodø) from April 1. SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup) subsidiary Wideroe is considering legal steps against the decision to allocate these PSO routes to its competitor even though it has been awarded with contracts in the south of Norway in return that were previously served by DAT (Oslo Gardermoen-Florø and Bergen-Florø). DAT has also set-up a second subsidiary in Lithuania called DAT Lite (Vilnius) that will operate business charters with a single Beech King Air 350.
