Dana Air (9J, Lagos) started B737-300 operations on February 25, 2020, and will use its first aircraft of the type to increase frequencies on trunk domestic routes in Nigeria.
5N-DNA (msn 28400) operated its first revenue flight as 9J335 from Lagos to Abuja, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows. The 22.5-year-old ex-Southwest Airlines (WN, Dallas Love Field) aircraft was ferried to Nigeria from Naples Capodichino in mid-September 2019.
Dana Air is planning to induct another B737-300, 5N-DNB (msn 27721), shortly. The aircraft is currently at Lagos airport.
The privately-owned Nigerian carrier said it would use the aircraft to add two more daily flights from Lagos to Port Harcourt Awolowo, one more from Lagos to Abuja, and one from Abuja to Uyo.
"We are reviewing other destinations. Very soon we would introduce more routes as part of our consolidation efforts," Media and Communications Manager Kinglsey Ezenwa said.
According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Dana Air also operates one MD-82 and four MD-83s.
