The Royal Thai Police is set to add its first DHC-6-400 in the form of N964VK (msn 964), ch-aviation research has revealed.
The aircraft, manufactured in 2017 but not operated by any other airline until now, was ferried from Victoria International via Portland Hillsboro to Murrieta/Temecula, CA, on May 20, 2020. It is currently undergoing pre-delivery cabin outfitting at the Californian airport. It will be re-registered as 36964 on handover to the Thai authorities.
The aircraft is the first Viking Air turboprop operated by the Royal Thai Police and is the first unit of the type to be delivered to Thailand.
Besides a sizeable fleet of helicopters, the Royal Thai Police also operates a single Fokker 50, a Dassault Falcon 2000, and two CN-235s.
