ASL Group is launching a virtual boutique airline, ASL Fly Executive (Antwerp), which will commence operations from July 4.
The Belgian firm on June 9 announced that flights would use E135 and E145 jets, operated by Air Charters Europe (Netherlands) (Groningen), between Brussels and Ibiza starting from next month, with Antwerp-Innsbruck flights commencing in 2021.
It described the new operation as combining the best of private and commercial aviation, with an all-inclusive package of drinks, snacks, 25 kg of luggage per person and ticket flexibility.
ASL Fly Executive will commence operations with a weekly flight from Brussels to Ibiza. In the future, it could target specific vacation and business destinations, events, fairs and sports competitions, and will preferably use private terminals or small airports.
"Traveling by airliner has become uncomfortable and impersonal," said ASL Group and Air Charters Europe chief executive officer Philippe Bodson. "The question is, should this really be the case? At ASL Group, we don't think so. That is why we have developed a new and unusual concept that may turn the aviation industry upside down."
Bodson added that ASL Fly Executive would be placed somewhere between private charter flights and scheduled aviation.
