Mohahlaula Airlines (Maseru International) has announced the launch of scheduled passenger flights will take place on September 21, with tickets sales set to open on September 1 as Lesotho slowly emerges from its COVID-related lockdown.

The airline, which despite being certified in February did not launch scheduled operations prior to the outbreak of the pandemic, started operating domestic and international charters during the lockdown. However, as Lesotho relaxed its lockdown, it is now finally able to launch flights within the mountaineous southern African country.

While the exact schedule has yet to be released, Mohahlaula Airlines planned to operate from its base at Maseru International to Mokhotlong, Semonkong, and Qacha’s Nek using a Cessna (single turboprop) C208B Grand Caravan wet-leased from South Africa's Resilience Aviation (Johannesburg Lanseria) alongside a Beech (twin turboprop) King Air 200.

According to the ch-aviation PRO airlines module, Mohahlaula Airlines is Lesotho's only scheduled carrier.
