TUI fly (Netherlands) (OR, Amsterdam Schiphol) will wet-lease two A320-200s from Florida's GlobalX (G6, Miami International) to supplement its in-house fleet during the peak summer season in July and August 2022.
"Each year TUI Group and its airlines require extra aircraft capacity to match the high season demand in our European markets. GLOBALX, as a new operator with an experienced team, offers a perfect match with our demands and we are happy to welcome them to our network," Head of Aviation Leases of TUI Roel Martens said.
N276GX (msn 2695) was ferried to Amsterdam Schiphol on June 27-28, 2022, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows. The second aircraft has yet to join. Both A320s will be based out of Amsterdam and will be the only Airbus narrowbodies operating for TUI fly (Netherlands) whose in-house fleet comprises six B737-8s, one B767-300ER, and three B787-8s. The ch-aviation fleets module shows it also wet-leases two B737-800s from Canada's Sunwing Airlines (WG, Toronto Pearson) and one A330-300 from Wamos Air (EB, Madrid Barajas).
For its part, GLOBALX operates six A320-200s and a single A321-200. The airline currently focuses on passenger charter operations but is gearing up for rapid cargo expansion.
