Airhub Airlines (RE, Malta International) added its first A330-900 in mid-June 2022, taking over a CMI lease contract with Air Sénégal (HC, Dakar Blaise Diagne International) from fellow Maltese ACMI/charter specialist Hi Fly Malta (3L, Malta International).

9H-SZN (msn 1910) was transferred from Hi Fly Malta, which had operated it on behalf of Air Sénégal since new in 2019, to Airhub Airlines in early June 2022. The aircraft flew for the first time with the new operator on June 17 from Dakar Blaise Diagne International to Marseilles and has since been deployed mainly on transatlantic services to New York JFK and Baltimore International, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows.

While initially, the aircraft was operated by Hi Fly Malta due to Air Sénégal's lack of EU Third Country Operator authorisation and a US Foreign Air Carrier Permit, the airline has since obtained both documents. It is not clear why it continues to contract out the A330neo's operations. It did not respond to ch-aviation's request for comment.

The aircraft is one of two widebodies operated for Air Sénégal by Airhub Airlines alongside an A340-300 used on routes to Conakry, Milan Malpensa, and Paris CDG. The Senegalese flag carrier also operates one A220-300, two A319-100s, two A321-200s, and two ATR72-600s, all in-house.

The Senegalese carrier continues to own 9H-SZN and subcontracts it on a CMI basis to Airhub Airlines.

The Maltese ACMI/charter specialist also operates two A330-300s (one stored and one under a long-term ACMI deal with Corendon Airlines (XC, Antalya)), three A340-300s (one each wet-leased to Air Sénégal and Surinam Airways (PY, Paramaribo International), and one stored), and four A320-200s, the ch-aviation fleets module shows.
