Air Arabia (G9, Sharjah) launched scheduled A321-200 operations on October 1, 2022, having already inducted two units of the type, ch-aviation research has revealed.
A6-ATH (msn 7879) operated the first revenue flight from Sharjah to Alexandria Borg el Arab on October 1 while A6-ATG (msn 7833) entered revenue service on October 22, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows. The ch-aviation schedules module indicates the low-cost carrier will deploy the two A321-200s out of Sharjah to Kozhikode, Dammam, Gassim, Jeddah International, Kuwait, Chennai, Madinah, Peshawar, Riyadh, and Tashkent International, although ADS-B data shows that the aircraft also fly to other destinations, such as Istanbul Airport, Sialkot, IATA!TZQ, and Alexandria.
The Emirati low-cost carrier added the second-hand A321s on lease from Wings Capital Partners to complement its fleet of thirty-two A320-200s and six A321-200NX. It has a further seventy-three A320-200Ns, twenty-seven A321-200NX, and twenty A321-200NY(XLR)s on firm order from Airbus. It also intends to add a third second-hand A321-200, msn 7903, formerly also of Interjet stock.
