TUI Airways (BY, London Luton) will wet-lease a B787-9 from sister carrier TUI fly Nordic (6B, Stockholm Arlanda) for flights to Cancún during the peak summer 2023 season, ch-aviation schedule analysis has revealed.
As also reported by AeroRoutes, the British TUI Group unit will use the wet-leased B787 to operate to the Mexican destination from Dublin International (weekly from June 5, 2023) and Manchester International (up to 6x weekly starting on May 4). The wet-lease will terminate by July 23, 2023.
The ch-aviation fleets module shows that TUI Airways' in-house widebody fleet comprises eight B787-8s, five -9s, and two B767-300ERs (which are slated for a phase-out by the first half of 2024). In turn, the Swedish unit operates just a single B787-9 in terms of its widebody aircraft.
