SkyWest Airlines (OO, St. George Municipal) and Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) have reached an agreement to amend their existing Delta Connection contract allowing Delta to retire its 66 CRJ100s and CRJ200s currently operated on its behalf by Skywest either in Delta Connection or Skywest colours. The CRJ-200s will be retired as of later this month with the last of the 66 CRJ-200s to be retired by December 2015. Instead, Delta has awarded Skywest a contract to operate five ex-Comair (United States of America) (Cincinnati International) CRJ700s as well as all 13 ex-Comair CRJ900s and 16 CRJ900s currently operated by Pinnacle Airlines (Memphis International). Skywest will start adding these new aircraft later this month as well and is expecting to have all additional 34 CRJ-700/CRJ-900 aircraft in operation by June 2013. It currently already operates 14 CRJ-700s and 21 CRJ-900s on behalf of Delta.
