Transavia Airlines (HV, Amsterdam Schiphol) has signed a commitment to wet lease one A320-200 from Avion Express (X9, Vilnius) in the summer 2023 season.
The Lithuanian ACMI/charter specialist, owned by Avia Solutions Group, said the contract would begin on April 20, 2023, and continue until the end of October. It did not clarify which airport the aircraft would be based at. While most of Transavia's flights operate from Amsterdam Schiphol, the Air France-KLM low-cost carrier also has bases at Rotterdam, Eindhoven, and Brussels National.
Transavia Airlines and its sister carrier Transavia France are currently all-Boeing operators with a combined fleet of four B737-700s (all operated by the Dutch unit) and ninety-nine B737-800s (thirty-seven operated in the Netherlands and sixty-two in France). The French unit is also wet-leasing one A320-200 from DAT. However, both Transavias and sister carrier KLM Royal Dutch Airlines are due to begin rollover to an A320neo fleet soon. Air France-KLM has committed to 100 units of the type with a further sixty options, with all of them earmarked for the Transavias and KLM. Deliveries were originally scheduled to begin in the second half of 2023.
