ASKY Airlines (KP, Lomé) has signed a lease agreement with AerCap for two second-hand B737-8s with deliveries due in mid-2023.
The first aircraft will deliver to the Togolese carrier in June 2023, followed by the other in August. The carrier did not disclose the identity of the two aircraft.
However, the ch-aviation fleets ownership module shows that AerCap owns fifty-two delivered B737-8s, of which only two are currently unassigned to an airline. VP-CZI (msn 60705) and VP-CZS (msn 60704) are both ex-Okay Airways (BK, Tianjin) stock and are currently under maintenance at Addis Ababa International. The aircraft were delivered to the Chinese operator in 2018 and were retired after the March 2019 grounding of the type, according to the ch-aviation fleets history module.
ASKY Airlines currently operates four B737-700s and eight B737-800s. The airline is 40%-owned by Ethiopian Aviation Holding Group.
