Avia Solutions Group (ASG) has acquired Slovakian ACMI/charter carrier AirExplore (ED, Bratislava) for an undisclosed sum, the Dublin-headquartered aviation group has announced.
“Slovakia offers a dynamic business environment and having an AOC here presents a significant advantage, providing vast opportunities for extended geographic reach and new routes,” Jonas Janukenas, CEO, Avia Solutions Group, said in a statement.
“Becoming a part of the leading aviation services group and the world’s largest ACMI provider will not only provide our airline with valuable know-how and access to best industry practices but will also present new business opportunities, strengthening our positions in the market. We anticipate an exciting period for our airline’s growth and development,” Martin Stulajter, CEO, AirExplore, added.
Stulajter has since confirmed to ch-aviation that ASG has indeed bought 100% of AirExplore's shareholding, which had been owned by himself, several other executives, and an entity named Titan 77 sro.
"I can confirm that management remains the same dedicated to the level of service as our clients are used to from AirExplore," he clarified.
According to the ch-aviation fleets module, AirExplore's fleet entails eight B737-800s and two B737-800(BCF)s. Recent ACMI customers include Smartwings (Slovakia), Smartwings (Czechia), Jet2 (United Kingdom), and TUI fly (Netherlands).
For its part, ASG's airline subsidiaries include Avion Express, Avion Express Malta, Avion Express Brasil (nascent), SmartLynx Airlines, SmartLynx Airlines Estonia, SmartLynx Airlines Malta, KlasJet, Bluebird Nordic, and BBN Airlines Indonesia (nascent).
