Cathay Pacific (CX, Hong Kong International) has signed sales/lease-back agreements with Avolon covering nine A320neo Family aircraft, due for delivery from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) in 2026-2027.
The lessor did not disclose variants involved.
The ch-aviation fleets module shows that Cathay Pacific currently operates twelve A321-200NX, its only active narrowbody type. In turn, the carrier's LCC subsidiary, HK Express (UO, Hong Kong International), operates an exclusively narrowbody fleet, currently comprising six A320-200s, ten A320-200Ns, eleven A321-200s (including one leased from Avolon), and two A321-200NX. The group's in-house aircraft ownership vehicle, Cathay Pacific Aircraft Services, has a firm order for a further eighteen A321-200NX directly from Airbus. Currently, four units are slated to go to the mainline and fourteen to the LCC.
Avolon's portfolio of A320neo Family aircraft includes fifty-four A320-200neo (and 21 more units under the lessor's management) and twenty-nine A321-200neo. It has firm orders for a further eighty-two A320neo and eighty-five A321neo, the ch-aviation fleets ownership shows.
