Proflight Zambia (P0, Lusaka) is set to add its first B737-300 to its fleet of two Cessna Grand Caravans, four Jetstream 32s, three Jetstream 41s and a B737-200Adv. wet-leased from Star Air (South Africa) (BRH, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo). According to Aviation Letter, the Zambian regional specialist is awaiting delivery of an ex-Air New Zealand (NZ, Auckland International) machine, msn 28085, currently in storage at Goodyear. The acquisition of a relatively more fuel efficient B737 is seen against the backdrop of rising competition from Fastjet (Dar es Salaam) which recently launched direct services from Dar es Salaam to Lusaka and which is also considering establishing a new Zambian subsidiary, Fastjet Zambia (Lusaka).
