Scoot (TR, Singapore Changi) is expecting to take delivery of its first B787-9 in November this year. The LCC took over an existing order for twenty B787-8 aircraft from parent company Singapore Airlines (SQ, Singapore Changi) in late 2011, converting it to ten B787-9s and ten slightly smaller 787-8s. It has since been configuring them for the medium haul, low cost business model. Scoot says its B787-9 will be configured with a total of 375 seats including 35 premium seats in a 2-3-2 configuration, and 340 Economy Class seats in a 3-3-3 layout. The airline says its first B787-8 will be delivered in mid-2015. Though the deployment of the first aircraft is currently being confirmed, by mid-2015 all Scoot flights will be operated by 787s. Scoot’s current B777-200(ER) fleet will be progressively retired as the 787s are delivered.
