Nepal Airlines (RA, Kathmandu) has taken delivery of its first of six Y12Es on order from Harbin Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation (Harbin). The aircraft, 9N-AKS, will be ferried to the Himalayan Kingdom on July 25 where it will undergo certification prior to its entry into service.
The turboprop was originally due in late June only for Nepali authorities to delay its arrival on the back of lengthy certification delays experienced with it first MA-60.
Nepal Airlines intends to use the Y12s to gradually replace its fleet of ageing DHC-6s of which only one is currently serviceable.
