CSA Czech Airlines (Prague Václav Havel) will reportedly sell its fleet of six A320-200s this autumn as part of cost-cutting measures. In addition, the Czech carrier will also seek to renegotiate an outstanding order for a further seven of the type, though no exact terms or conditions of the arrangement have yet been settled on.
Michaela Lagronová, a spokeswoman for Czech Aeroholdings, told the Idnez newswire that maintaining an A320 presence in CSA's fleet no longer made economical sense. Ordered under the management of former CEO Jaroslav Tvrdik, the A320s have proven too big for CSA's needs. Talks with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) are scheduled to commence later next week Lagronová added.
At present, of the airline's six A320s, only two are operational with CSA while the remaining four are out on on lease to either Travel Service Airlines (Prague Václav Havel) or Travel Service Slovakia (Bratislava).
Aside from the A320s, CSA's fleet also includes nine A319-100s, one A330-300, three ATR42-500s and four ATR72-200/-500s.
