KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam Schiphol) will operate its final scheduled MD-11 rotation on October 25 between Amsterdam Schiphol and Montréal Trudeau. Radio TeleVisie Noord Holland reports that three final farewell flights have also been set for November 11 following which the type will be officially retired from the Dutch carrier's fleet. The flights are expected to last an hour and cost EUR111 (USD139).
KLM operates just three MD-11s - PH-KCB msn 48556), PH-KCD (msn 48558), and PH-KCE (msn 48559) - on flights to Montreal and Toronto Pearson. Following their retirement, the airframes are destined to be scrapped.
