Nauru Airlines (Nauru) CEO Geoff Bowmaker has announced the launch of a new Micronesian Island Hopper service connecting the islands of Pohnpei and Kosrae to Majuro, Tarawa and Nauru.
“These flights will facilitate and encourage more travel and trade between the North, Central and Southern Pacific region bringing family and business ties much closer together as well as generate more visitors into the Federated States of Micronesia from the Central and Southern Pacific area,” Bowmaker told Micronesia's Kaselehlie Press.
Effective June 12, the Nauruan carrier will operate a weekly Nauru-Tarawa-Majuro-Kosrae-Pohnpei return route on-board B737-300 aircraft. The CEO added that the flight's schedule was designed not to compete directly with United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare).
