Gryphon Airlines SA (GRF, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) is set to make its debut in the scheduled operations market airline sources have exclusively informed ch-aviation.
The carrier will shortly be audited by the Namibian and Gabonese civil aviation authorities ahead of the launch of Johannesburg O.R. Tambo-Walvis Bay and Johannesburg O.R. Tambo-Libreville Leon M'Ba-Cotonou Cadjehoun flights later this year. The latter will be operated on-board an MD-82, ZS-JDS (msn 49254).
A charter specialist, Gryphon also operates an MD-87 and two B737-200Advs, one of which - ZS-EVE (msn 22123) - is used to ply a 2x weekly Johannesburg O.R. Tambo-Lubumbashi return service for Congo's flyCAA (BU, Kinshasa N'Djili).
