COMAC (Shanghai Pudong) says it signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with German start-up carrier PuRen Airlines (Hamburg Luebeck) for seven C919s and seven ARJ21-700s during the Paris Airshow 2015 at Paris Le Bourget.
The start-up is backed by Germany-based, Chinese investment firm PuRen Group which acquired the bankrupt Flughafen Hamburg Luebeck GmbH in July last year. It is believed PuRen Airlines, once licensed for operations, will use Lubeck as its new hub for operations.
However, at present, neither of the aircraft types it plans to order have been certified for operations within the confines of the European Union.
