Chongqing Airlines (OQ, Chongqing) is to venture abroad at the end of this year the Chongqing Morning News has reported. According to informed sources, the carrier is planning to serve Bangkok Suvarnabhumi in Thailand direct from Chongqing.

Founded in 2007, the joint-venture between China Southern Airlines (CZ, Guangzhou) and the Chongqing Municipal Development & Investment Company currently operates a fleet of four A319-100s and seven A320-200s on flights throughout mainland China.
