Cape Air (9K, Hyannis) has announced it will begin scheduled daily (Monday-Saturday) cargo flights between Hyannis and Nantucket following the recent collapse of Island Airlines (Nantucket).
In a statement, the carrier said the service would begin on December 30 and would supplement its existing passenger flights between the Cape and Nantucket operated by subsidiary Nantucket Airlines (Nantucket).
VIP charter specialist Rectrix Aviation (Bedford, MA) is also eyeing the route and has already applied for a commuter air service operator permit to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Department of Transportation (DOT).
