TUI fly (Germany) (X3, Hannover) is set to wind down its Hamburg Helmut Schmidt operations ahead of the start of the Summer 2016 high season.
Quoting company sources, the Hamburger Abendblatt newspaper says the leisure carrier will shortly withdraw its only aircraft stationed in Hamburg in light of increased competition from LCCs such as germanwings (4U, Cologne/Bonn), Eurowings (EW, Düsseldorf), easyJet (London Luton) and Ryanair (FR, Dublin International).
TUIfly's Hamburg operations currently entail flights to Boa Vista Rabil International, Dubrovnik, Fuerteventura, Jerez de la Frontera, Gran Canaria, Malta International, Palma de Mallorca, Sal Amilcar Cabral International, and Tenerife Sur.
