China Airlines (CI, Taipei Taoyuan) says it will use its incoming fleet of fourteen A350-900s to expand the number of destinations it serves in Europe non-stop.

The Taiwanese carrier said in a press release that effective December of this year, flights to Amsterdam Schiphol and Rome Fiumicino would no longer require stops in Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and Delhi International owing to the A350's extended range performance.

China Airlines currently offers direct services to Frankfurt International and Vienna.

The carrier expects its first A350 in July this year ahead of its commercial debut a month later on flights between Taipei Taoyuan and Hong Kong International. In all, China Airlines expects to add four A350s this year, six in 2017, and four in 2018.
