bmi british midland (Nottingham East Midlands) has converted outstanding orders for 5 A319-100s into A321-200 orders. It will wet-lease two B757-200s from Astraeus (5W/London Gatwick). The aircraft will be used to replace one-stop service to Almaty with a new three times weekly London Heathrow-Almaty-Bishkek service and four times weekly non-stop service between Heathrow and Freetown. As a result, service to Dakar will be suspended. bmi has put its code on Air New Zealand (NZ/Auckland) services between London Heathrow and Los Angeles and Air One (AP/Rome Fiumicino) services between Milan Linate and Naples.
