Aer Lingus (EI, Dublin International) has no plans to rejoin the Oneworld alliance Chief Executive Officer Stephen Kavanagh has said.
Speaking to The Irish Independent, Kavanagh said that even if there were such designs, the Irish carrier would "still have to do the business case for joining" the alliance.
Earlier this year, Willie Walsh, the CEO of the carrier's parent, IAG International Airlines Group, said that 2018 would see the likely return of Aer Lingus to Oneworld.
However, he did confirm the Irish carrier was working towards joining the existing alliance between fellow IAG members British Airways (BA, London Heathrow) and Iberia (IB, Madrid Barajas).
"We believe… that we can bring more choice to the marketplace and grow in connected businesses without compromising any of our existing businesses or the consumer," he said. "We're about building cost efficiency and capacity."
