VietJetAir (VJ, Hanoi Noi Bai International) has taken delivery of its maiden A321neo following the arrival VN-A646 (msn 7991) in Ho Chi Minh City earlier this week. The Vietnamese LCC has an additional seventy-two of the type on order from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) after having converted its entire outstanding backlog of thirty-one A320neo to A321neo.

As it stands, the Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-JM-powered twinjet will enter revenue service later this month operating on domestic and international routes to and from Vietnam.

VietJetAir currently operates twenty-five A320ceo and twenty-five A321ceo on scheduled passenger flights to 32 destinations across Vietnam as well as Thailand, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Myanmar, and Hong Kong. It is also due eleven more A321-200s.
