Air Leisure (Cairo International) is in talks with an unspecified third party over the acquisition of additional A330 aircraft, Chairman Mohamed Mounir has told African Aerospace.
The Egyptian carrier acquired three ex-Emirates A330-200s on lease from DAE Capital and currently uses them to operate scheduled passenger flights from Aswan to Beijing Capital, Shanghai Pudong, and Xi'an Xianyang in China. One of the aircraft was, until recently, wet-leased to Nigeria's Azman Air (AZM, Kano) the ch-aviation fleets module reflects.
Formerly Air Memphis (Cairo International), Air Leisure is tentatively due four SSJ 100/95s from Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (Zhukovsky) having signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in early 2016.
According to Mounir, the aircraft, if delivered, would be used to on domestic charter flights as well as multi-sector hops throughout the region. The latter would cater primarily to Chinese and Japanese tourists' habits, he said.
