TAROM (RO, Bucharest Henri Coanda) has issued a Request For Proposals (RFP) for the dry-lease of up to four either A320 or B737 aircraft. Tender documents seen by ch-aviation indicate eligible aircraft must be no older than six years of age and free of any C Check/structural checks for the next 24 months.
The aircraft must also be CFM International-powered and feature 160-190 seats with a mobile class divider. The term of the lease is open to negotiation.
The deadline for submissions is February 26, 2018.
The Romanian state-owned carrier currently operates a narrowbody jet fleet of four A318-100s, four B737-300s, four B737-700s, and two B737-800s. In January, government outlined its three-year plan for Tarom in which it envisaged the addition of twenty new aircraft through 2020.
