Air Kiribati (IK, Tarawa) will inaugurate its own scheduled international operations on March 21 with the launch of weekly flights between Tarawa and Funafuti, Tuvalu. Operations are on-board the Kiribatian carrier's only Dash 8-100.
“This service, we believe, will facilitate the growth and development of both tourism and trade between the two countries and will further the Kiribati Government’s Kiribati Vision 20 (KV20) objectives,” airline CEO Tarataake Teannaki told Radio Kiribati.
Air Kiribati currently specializes in flights throughout the South Pacific island chain. It is also partner to Solomons - Solomon Airlines (IE, Honiara) covering flights from Tarawa to Honiara and to Brisbane International.
