CHC Helicopters International (RBD, Vancouver International) has won a five-year contract with four oil firms in north-western Australia for passenger, medical, and search-and-rescue operations in the region.

The carrier said in a press release that it would operate over ten flights per day on behalf of Woodside, Jadestone Energy, Vermilion Energy, and BHP out of Karratha, Learmonth, and Onslow. The oil firms will share the services to improve efficiencies.

The contract is due to commence in July 2019 and is extendable twice by two years each.

CHC Helicopters will deploy two AW139s and two AW189 in the region.

In total, the operator expects to carry more than 100,000 passengers throughout the duration of the contract.
