Corendon Airlines (XC, Antalya) has announced it will open its second Turkish base in the Aegean coastal city of Izmir Adnan Menderes in Summer 2019.
The leisure specialist said in a statement it would deploy a single B737 to the airport from June 1 through to October 31, 2019, for use in serving each of Cologne/Bonn (3x weekly), Düsseldorf (3x weekly), Frankfurt International (2x weekly), Hannover (2x weekly), Hamburg Helmut Schmidt (2x weekly), Stuttgart Manfred Rommel (2x weekly), Munich (2x weekly), and Maastricht (2x weekly).
Corendon Airlines will add seven more aircraft to its fleet over the course of 2019 and therefore plans to increase the number of its bases both inside Turkey and abroad.
At present, it operates one B737-8 and ten B737-800s, alongside three A320-200s on wet-lease from Global Aviation Operations (GE, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo), from its main base at Antalya.
