Vietnam Airlines (VN, Hanoi Noi Bai International) has taken delivery of its first A321neo following the handing over of VN-A618 (msn 8589) on Wednesday, November 13. The twinjet is the first of six on longterm lease from Aviation Capital Group and sourced from the lessor's Airbus order book.
Nguyen Thai Trung, the airline's Deputy General Director, said the aircraft would be deployed on domestic flights as well as services to Indochina and Southeast Asia.
"The A321neo will really be a breakthrough for Vietnam Airlines," he said.
According to the ch-aviation fleets module, the jets are powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1130G-JMs engines.
Vietnam Airlines is an existing operator of the A321ceo of which it employs 57.
