MAP Jet (Vienna) has not launched scheduled operations under the Austriair (Vienna) brand this spring. It had first planned to operate its scheduled services from Vienna to Frankfurt Intl and Munich as Austriair and then has started selling seats under the MAP Jet following threats from Austrian Airlines (OS/Vienna) to take MAP to court for violating its trademark. Flights were scheduled to start on April 28 with a Dash 8-400 and EMB-195 wet-leased from Augsburg Airways (IQ/Augsburg) but have not taken off. MAP Jet has since also returning its single MD-83 and is concentrating on its business charter division for the time being. It has announced its intention to launch scheduled passenger services at a later stage instead.
