Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) has announced it will deploy its first A330-900s to its Seattle Tacoma International hub when deliveries start later this summer. The carrier has thirty-five of the type on direct order from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac).
In a statement, Delta said it would use the A330neo to open up flights from Seattle to each of Shanghai Pudong (effective July 1), Seoul Incheon (effective August 1), and Tokyo Narita (effective August 31).
The A330-900neo will feature a total of 281 seats including 29 in business class, 28 in premium economy, and 224 in economy class.
“As Seattle’s largest global airline, Delta will nearly double the premium seat offerings to both local and connecting customers in our top Asian markets by the end of this summer, with additional services to come,” Delta president, Glen Hauenstein, said.
Delta is using the incoming A330neo to partially replace its fleet of fifty-six B767-300(ER)s.
