ASL Aviation Holdings has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) for twenty B737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCF). The agreement was announced during the 2019 Paris Air Show at Paris Le Bourget and includes 10 firm orders and 10 purchase rights.
“Having operated two leased 737-800BCFs across our wide European network, we are very pleased with how the flexibility and reliability of these freighters fulfil our operational needs in meeting our customer requirements,” Hugh Flynn, Chief Executive, ASL Aviation Holdings, said. “The aircraft is highly efficient and right-sized for our developing operations on behalf of our express cargo customers who are experiencing growing demand. The B737-800(BCF) will also give us access to new markets.”
Headquartered in Ireland, ASL operates across multiple AOCs including ASL Airlines Ireland, ASL Airlines Belgium, ASL Airlines France, ASL Airlines Hungary, and ASL Airlines Switzerland (which does not, at present, actively operate any aircraft itself anymore) in Europe. It also has stakes in Safair in South Africa and K-Mile Asia in Thailand.
According to the ch-aviation fleets module, ASL operates multiple narrow- and wide-body freighters including the B737-300(F), -300(QC), and -400(F) variants.
