FitsAir (8D, Colombo International) has made its international passenger service debut after it operated a one-off charter flight between Colombo Ratmalana and Vishakhapatnam in India on Thursday, August 29.
The flight was conducted onboard the Sri Lankan carrier's only ATR72-200(QC), 4R-EXN (msn 373).
FitsAir operates weekly return flights between Colombo Ratmalana and Batticaloa using a Cessna (single turboprop) 208B. According to an airline statement, it is also planning to offer a flight from Trincomalee China Bay to Ratmalana on September 15 followed by Batticaloa to Jaffna once infrastructure permits.
Previously known as Expo Aviation (Colombo International), Fits Air had, until now, only operated domestic passenger and foreign cargo flights. Aside from the ATR - Avions de Transport Régional and Cessna Aircraft Company turboprops, FITS Air also operates two Cessna (single piston) 152s.
