Peach Aviation (MM, Osaka Kansai) opened its base at Tokyo Narita on October 27, as the low-cost carrier (LCC) fully assumes the flying programme of the now shelved Vanilla Air (Tokyo Narita) brand.
Vanilla Air was based at Narita, but has now ceased operations following its merger with Peach, whose parent organisation is also ANA Holdings.
Peach has switched its flights to Terminal 3 at Narita, instead of Terminal 1, the facility which the LCC had used since it started its operations at the airport six years previously to the day. As part of the base start-up, the LCC will also open the Narita Operations Support Center on November 1, to support the operation and to promote business in the region.
Speaking at the base opening CEO Shinichi Inoue said: "Peach will keep expanding its network from Narita Airport and offer much easier travel for people flying to and from Japan and other parts of Asia."
The LCC used the base launch to inaugurate its first international flights from Narita, to Kaohsiung and Taipei Taoyuan. Flights MM635 to Kaohsiung and MM627 to Taoyuan will both operate daily the ch-aviation schedules module shows.
A new domestic service will be launched in December from Narita, as Peach will introduce a daily service to Ishigaki. Following this route launch in December, the LCC will offer a network of six domestic and two international destinations from its new Narita base.
