Binter Canarias (NT, Gran Canaria) took delivery of its first E195-E2 in a ceremony in Embraer's plant at São José dos Campos U.E. Stumpf International airport in Brazil, the manufacturer said in a press release.
EC-NEZ (msn 19020023) is the first of five that Binter Canarias has on firm order from Embraer. It will be the first E195-E2 operated in Europe - Embraer has so far delivered two to Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras (AD, São Paulo Viracopos) - and also the first in-house jet operated by the Canary Islands airline.
According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Binter Canarias currently owns and operates seven ATR72-500s and fourteen ATR72-600s. The -600s are operated by the carrier's subsidiary Canair (RSC, Gran Canaria). Another subsidiary Binter CV (Praia) operates a further three ATR72-500s. The airline also wet-leases three CRJ1000ERs from Malta's Medavia (Malta International).
Binter Canarias plans to start operating the E195-E2 in revenue service on December 11, deploying it first from Gran Canaria to Vigo. The initial schedule for the first week of operations includes the following routes:
- from Las Palmas to Vigo, Zaragoza (both from December 11), Tenerife Norte (from December 12), Pamplona (December 13), Corvera (December 14), and Palma de Mallorca (December 15);
