Air France (AF, Paris CDG) has inked sales/lease-back agreements with FTAI Aviation covering sixteen Airbus narrowbody jets.
The lessor said in a statement the transaction covers six A319-100s and ten A318-100s, all powered by CFM International CFM56-5B engines. The deal is expected to close later this month and entails an average lease duration of 34 months.
According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Air France currently operates eighteen A318-100s. All of them are owned by the airline. In turn, the carrier owns twenty out of thirty-three A319-100s in its fleet. The remaining 13 units are dry-leased from Calliope (four), Carlyle Aviation Partners (two), DAE Capital, ECAF I, Aviation Capital Group, Blackbird Capital, Fortress Ireland Leasing, GECAS, and JP Lease Products & Services (one each).
Air France does not currently lease any aircraft from FTAI Aviation.
