Saipan Air (Saipan) has publicly blamed its contract partner Swift Air (United States of America) (Greensboro Piedmont Triad International) for an indefinite delay in its start-up of operations which were scheduled to start on July 1 with daily flights from Saipan to Tokyo Narita and four weekly flights to Beijing Capital. According to Saipan Air, Swift Air would have defaulted on the charter agreement. It was planning to use two B757-200s from Swift Air for the first flights and to add a B737-400 also wet-leased from Swift to add Osaka Kansai and Shenyang Taoxian International from August.
