Star Air (India) (S5, Belgaum) has ordered two E175s from Nordic Aviation Capital during the 2022 Farnborough Air Show.
While the deal was covered by India's Business Standard, neither of the two parties published a statement nor did they respond to ch-aviation's request for confirmation.
The first Embraer regional jet of the pair will deliver in September 2022 and the second one in October. They will allow the airline to expand to longer domestic routes.
The ch-aviation fleets module shows that Star Air currently operates five owned E145s. The privately-owned carrier backed by the Sanjay Ghodawat multi-industry conglomerate deploys the regional jets out of its bases at Belgaum and Bengaluru International airports on regional routes across central and western India.
