Air Algérie (AH, Algiers) has extended the deadline for proposals in its ongoing tender for the dry-lease of ten narrow- and widebody aircraft.
The state-owned carrier now expects bids by May 29, a week beyond the original schedule.
Air Algérie is seeking four A330-200s or A330-300s, two A330-900s, two B737-800s, and two B737-9s. The ongoing tender is independent of the process of ordering aircraft directly from manufacturers. The North African airline selected Boeing for its new narrowbody aircraft and recently ordered nine B737-9s. A tentative commitment for five A330-900s and two A350-1000s from Airbus has yet to be formalised, but it is expected to happen "soon".
