Cycladic Airways (Athens) is exploring the conversion of its fleet of Textron Aviation Cessna (single turboprop) 208B Grand Caravans to zero-emission propulsion technologies with support from net zero technology financing and leasing specialist MONTE, the companies announced.
The UK-based financier will work with Cycladic to identify the most suitable zero-emission propulsion technology for their operations and will then offer financing for the conversion of their fleet once this technology is approved and certified, according to a joint statement.
The Greek regional carrier began inter-island services in the Aegean in November 2022 with a fleet of new Cessna (twin piston) 208B Grand Caravan EX aircraft.
Cycladic Airways is the Greek subsidiary of Austria's Cycladesair Aviation (Graz) which established a limited liability branch company in Naxos, Greece, under the legal name Cycladesair Aviation GmbH Allodapi Branch on March 6, 2020.
